Catering Companies Gear Up for Busy RNC Week

Bay area catering companies are expecting big business during the Republican National Convention. As reported in a August 17 Tampa Bay Business Journal, catering contracts have led restaurants to bulk up staff, extend hours and make structural changes that they expect to have a lasting benefit on business. Although the business is lucrative, it has its drawbacks. Catering employees have to undergo Secret Service background checks and the trips in and out of the convention center can include massive delays due to security, the Tribune said.
